Hospital Day 4 9.21.19

12:45pm Update:

Cathy has a surgery scheduled for tomorrow at 7:30am. There is potential for this to be the last surgery needed.

She still remains on ECMO and in critical condition. Doctors say she has a very long road ahead. Praise the Lord, baby girl Garrett is continuing to thrive. She took a full bottle last night and is a good little sleeper. We are so thankful for the doctors and nurses taking such incredible care of Cathy and their little girl. Please pray for this to be the last needed surgery so that she can begin the recovery process. Pray for healing and full function to begin in Cathy’s heart and lungs so that she can be removed from ECMO.

Pray for God to continue to strengthen and uphold Cathy, Eli, and their sweet girls.

Early evening on the 21st I was finally able to “meet” my baby.

When I was in the hospital I caught a cold which can be very dangerous for newborns. Therefore, the hospital arranged with the Child Life Specialist Team to borrow an incubator for the baby to safely come into my ICU room. While I was unable to move my head, Eli said my eyes opened when he told me the baby was in the room.
